I Am Julie Powell

I have no idea how many times I've seen this hit film Julie & Julia, but it has got be in the double digits now. I can't get enough of the films. The message in the film will be in my life forever. For people who have not seen this film, you must definitely see this film.

Even though I praise Meryl Streep for her Golden Globe winning portrayal of Julia Child in this film, I give most of the credit to Amy Adams. Her portrayal of Julie Powell got most of my attention. At the very end of the movie, I felt like I was Julie Powell. Her story is my story.

Julie Powell was just starting a new life when she and her husband moved into their new apartment in Queens, New York. As she starts a new life, she feel like an outsider amongst her friends. They are becoming successful in their field of work and she is the only one that isn't happy about her position.

The only thing that made her escape from these miserable times was cooking. Then right in the mix, she created a blog called The Julie/Julia Project. In this blog, she cooks her way through Julia Child's cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking. In 365 days, she cooked 524 recipes.

Throughout the movie, I've seen the changes in her as she goes through the project. I saw the happiness, challenges, meltdowns, and a comedic risk of health. Also, she finished a project for the first time in her life.

I totally relate to this story. I am a workaholic. Whenever I'm asked to do something I can finish it at the blink of an eye. That's the problem. I finish things because I've been asked to do it. I had never finished something all by myself. After watching this movie, I have finished so many projects, it's hard to count. That is why I really love these movies where you see yourself in the movie. That's why Julie & Julia has just been named my favorite movie of all time.

I love my passion, which is writing. I can do it till the day I die. I love to blog, write movies, tv scripts, articles, and more. Of course I love venturing out into other fields (acting, modeling, hosting, etc.), but writing to going to be with me forever.

If you relate to me and Julie's story, you should definitely get this movie out on DVD. Trust me, this movie won't disappoint you.
